AICPA(American Institute of CPAs) history:
American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), founded in 1887, established the name of the American Association of Public Accountants (American Association of Public Accountants, AAPA). AAPA 1916, changed its name to the United Institute of Chartered Accountants (Institute of Public Accountants), the time has 1150 members. 1917 once again changed its name to American Society of Accountants (American Institute of Accountants), and has been extended to use in 1957 was changed to American Institute of CPAs (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). In 1936, AICPA and the 1921 Society of Certified Public Accountants of the United States (American Society of Certified Public Accountants) were merged. AICPA Governing Council has decided to Association activities and policies, from about 260 members from the states. The Council meets twice a year.

AICPA has the following committees: Accounting and Inspection Service Commission, Accounting Standards Executive Committee, peer review committees, Auditing Standards Board, the examination committee, management, follow-up Board of Education, Information Technology Executive Committee, the Executive Committee of consulting services, personal financial planning executive committee, Executive Committee of the private business, professional ethics executive committee, SEC Executive Committee business, and tax executive committee.
